#SDintheField is all about hunting, fishing and outdoor experiences, according to you and what you love to do in South Dakota. So hunters, anglers, trappers and other outdoor enthusiasts, listen up! Please share your hunting, fishing and outdoor memories with us on FacebookTwitterInstagram or all three.

#SDLeastWanted is all about showcasing how you, your friends, your family and neighbors are working together to help slow the spread of aquatic invasive species in South Dakota. How are you helping? Please demostrate to others how you are doing so on FacebookTwitterInstagram or all three.

#HabitatPays is a joint effort between the South Dakota Departments of Game, Fish and Parks and Agriculture to connect farmers and ranchers to the appropriate habitat resources and help them implement wildlife habitat where it makes the most sense to do so. How are you helping? Please demostrate to others how you are doing so on FacebookTwitterInstagram or all three.

Download our Mobile App – Search “SD GFP Outdoors” in your App Store

The GFP mobile app is designed for Android systems 6 and up and iOS systems 10 and up. You may need to update your software if you cannot download the app or if your app will not update to the new version.

The new mobile app features a digital backpack so users can customize it with favorite maps, licenses and handbooks. It also encompasses more of the state parks and recreation areas which was a missing component of the previous app.

  • Users now have the ability to view maps offline in the event where there is little to no cell phone service.
  • The app has the ability to alert users when a season application is opening or closing and when a hunting season starts and ends. Users can sign up to get key date alerts directly to their phone from our mobile app.
  • Users will be alerted to allow location access upon download. Accepting this feature will allow the app to use your location on the map features.
  • Users will then see an alert to allow access to files. Accepting this feature will allow users the ability to save their favorite maps and handbooks in the backpack.
