Lake Trout

The Lake Trout is found in cold water habitats of lakes and impoundments and can be found in South Dakota in the Pactola and Deerfield Reservoirs in the Black Hills. They primarily feed on other fish within their habitat.

The Lake Trout is a torpedo shaped fish with small scales and a large mouth and teeth. The dark body with abundant pale spots are evenly distributed on the head, body and tail (caudal) fin which is long and pointed.
